Safety Tips

Your safety is our top priority. We've put together these tips to help you have a safe and positive experience on CampusCommuno.

🛡️

Protect Your Privacy

  • Use a strong, unique password for your CampusCommuno account. Never share it with anyone.
  • Enable two-factor authentication if available for an extra layer of security.
  • Regularly review your account activity and connected sessions.
  • Log out of your account when using shared or public devices.
  • Keep your email address associated with your account up to date for important security notifications.
🕵️

Avoid Sharing Personal Information

  • Never share your phone number, home address, or financial details in posts or messages.
  • Be cautious when sharing your class schedule, workplace, or regular hangout spots.
  • Remember that while posts are anonymous, you should still avoid sharing identifying details.
  • Think twice before sharing personal stories that could identify you to people who know you.
  • Use the platform's built-in tools for communication rather than sharing personal contact information.
🚫

Report Harassment

  • If someone is making you feel uncomfortable, threatened, or harassed, report them immediately.
  • Use the 'Report a Problem' feature to notify our moderation team of any abusive behavior.
  • Do not engage with trolls or harassers. Block and report instead of responding.
  • Save screenshots of any harassing messages as evidence before reporting.
  • Our team takes all reports seriously and will take appropriate action, including banning offending accounts.
🔒

Block Suspicious Users

  • If you encounter a user who seems suspicious or makes you uncomfortable, block them immediately.
  • Trust your instincts. If something feels off about a conversation, it probably is.
  • Suspicious behavior includes: asking for personal information, pressuring you to meet offline, or sending inappropriate content.
  • Blocked users cannot view your profile, send you messages, or interact with you in any way.
  • You can manage blocked users in your account settings at any time.
🤝

Safe Meet Someone Usage

  • Always meet in public places for initial in-person meetings, such as campus cafes or libraries.
  • Tell a friend or roommate where you're going and who you're meeting.
  • Keep your first meetings brief and during daylight hours when possible.
  • Arrange your own transportation to and from the meeting location.
  • Trust your gut. If you feel uncomfortable at any point, it's okay to leave.
  • Never feel pressured to meet someone before you're ready. Take your time.
📋

Community Guidelines

  • Treat all community members with respect and kindness.
  • No hate speech, bullying, discrimination, or harassment of any kind.
  • Do not post explicit, violent, or illegal content.
  • Do not impersonate other users, staff, or administrators.
  • Respect the anonymity of others. Do not attempt to identify or 'out' other users.
  • Follow the specific rules of each community you join.
  • Violations of community guidelines may result in temporary or permanent account suspension.
